The Power of Flowers Presentation at the Miami Book Fair 2025

I had the pleasure of presenting not one, but three events in the Children's Alley during this year's Miami Book Fair hosted by Miami Dade College! In this interactive demonstration I told the story of how flowers make friends with pollinators. I invited families to embrace their inner flower child and learn about nature as they delved deeper into the world of plants. Together we learned about the colors and scents that make our world so beautiful!

An FIU student came to speak to me after my session on Saturday and asked me why did I decide to work the Fair this year, and for me, this is a personal full circle moment. As a little girl, I’d visit the Book Fair every year and get to pick out a new book, have fun in the Children’s Alley, and of course, get the obligatory arepa de queso & frozen lemonade! 😛

Now I get to create the same fun and magic for the next generation at a venue that values learning and community building just as much as I do!
