Get your hands dirty and take home something green!
Plants aren't that hard to take care of. Once you know the basics, you can apply them to pretty much any plant you come across. Let me show you how it works.
We start with instant gratification where you'll move a little seedling from one container to another, so you already have a plant to take home. I also pair that with planting a seed from scratch. That way you see both parts of growing: the right-now satisfaction AND the magia of watching something grow from nothing.
Everything's already set up when you arrive. We work at tables with bowls of soil and spoons for scooping. Your kids will learn that plants just need the right cariño. Everyone goes home with two pots, care guides, and probably some dirt under their fingernails.

See your neighborhood with fresh eyes
You've seen that plant in your neighborhood a hundred times. Now you'll finally know what it is.
During this Miami nature workshop, we'll walk through your local park using all our senses — touching tree bark that feels like scratchy sandpaper, spotting orchids that grow right on tree branches for shade, and noticing how that vine is taking over a tree trunk and figuring out why.
I bring field guides and when I remember, binoculars to share (such a treat to take turns looking). You'll learn which plants grow here in South Florida, how to identify poison ivy (don't touch that!), and gain that sense of place. It’s that conexión of knowing your little corner of Miami.
What you’ll learn: Plant identification skills, plant-pollinator relationships
Good to know: 1-2 hour walks | Dress accordingly - nature can be best appreciated in both the sunlight and rain | Grab the Seek or iNaturalist app if you can!

Where creativity meets curiosity
Nature journaling is the perfect way to de-stress and find your spark of creativity. If you're flipping through a magazine and see a picture of a landscape that inspires you, you can journal about that. Or, you might have potted plants in your house. Take five minutes to look at it. Anything in nature that’s around you is journaling.
We'll work with plant materials I bring, or bring that leaf from the tree in your front yard. You'll draw, write, reflect — observing nature in a way that feels personal and relevant to your life.
Perfect for kids 7 and up who can hold a pencil and write or draw. This is also for adults who need moments of calm and peace.

Not right now. My workshops are curated to teach kids first through fifth grade. This age group is more than likely to be able to hold a pencil, follow along with steps, and have the basic skills needed to really engage with the activities. Younger kids are welcome if parents are actively helping them participate.

Wherever you are in Miami! Libraries, farmers markets, community centers, schools, you name it. You don't need to travel across traffic to connect with nature. Book a consultation with me to learn more about where I can offer my teachings.

Your safety is my first concern! I always communicate the plan for outdoor specific venues. Some locations have covered areas we can use, and others might have buildings to go inside. If you're booking a private group, we'll figure out what makes sense for your comfort level.

Depends on the venue and your event in mind! At farmers markets, I've worked with up to 80 people over three hours (drop-in style). For more structured workshops at libraries or with private groups, I keep it to 15-20 people max so everyone gets one-on-one time with me.

Sí! We can do one-time workshops or regular sessions — monthly, every other week, whatever works for your group. I can create curriculum specifically for homeschool pod needs. Additionally, I am a a registered provider for Step Up for Students scholarships!

Generic lessons talk about traditional seasons in the United States. We're in Miami. Our growing season is backwards, we grow mangoes not apples, and it's 80° in December. My curriculum teaches about the nature we find HERE. Plus, I weave in cultural connections, like how the tomatoes you grow can be used in pico de gallo and how banana leaves are used to wrap tamales.

Depends on the scope of your project and your timeline. We'll check in regularly — weekly, bi-weekly, monthly — whatever fits your schedule. Some projects take a few weeks, others a few months. We figure that out in our first conversation.

Por supuesto! I have samples from projects with Arizona State University, FitKids360, and custom field guides I've created. Once we chat about your specific needs, I can show you relevant examples.

For workshops: First through fifth grade is my specialty (ages 6-11ish), though nature journaling works great for adults too! For curriculum: I've created materials for K-12 and university level.

For workshops, I provide all supplies. Just come in clothes that can get a little dirty and make sure to have a water bottle with you! For nature walks, please wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothes. If you have a smartphone, downloading iNaturalist or Seek beforehand is helpful but not required.
